Overview

You would like to install multiple instances of a specific version of Aurea Process (formerly known as CX Process, Savvion or SBM). on the same server.  This article provides instructions on how to install another installation of Aurea Process with the same or different Java application server.

Prerequisites

• Permission to run the Aurea Process installer for the version of Aurea Process you require.

Solution

It is possible to have more than one installation of Aurea Process on the server with the same or different Java application servers.  This configuration is useful for testing environments and the evaluation of different Java application servers.

Solution Steps

1. If you would like to use a different Java Application Server, please install the application server on the same server using the installation instructions provided by the vendor.
2. It is recommended to configure a separate database instance for your new instance of Aurea Process as it will allow you to perform testing in an Aurea Proces instance without impacting a different one. 
3. Run the Aurea Process Installer and follow the Aurea Process Business Manager Installation Guide for the Aurea Process version you would like to install.  As you follow the installation guide please note the following:
   • When entering the machine details, enter an install location different from the already installed instance of Aurea Process.
   • If you would like to run the multiple instances of Aurea Process at the same time, you will need to ensure that the ports specified are unique to each instance.  Using the same ports for multiple instances of Aurea Process will only allow you to start and run one instance at a time.
4. Once the installation is complete, it is recommended to disable auto-startup for each of your Aurea Process instances as described in Section G in the Aurea Process Business Manager Installation Guide.  This will allow you to select which Aurea Process instance should be started and running.
